RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- This role's primary focus will be cost accounting within the Finance department.
- Review, audit and close manufacturing jobs in ERP system on a daily basis.
- Responsible for plant level costs and control including cost accounting, bill of material audits, and cost analysis.
- Works closely with manufacturing to understand issues and how they impact the financial results as well as educate/inform department(s) on cost drivers and variances.
- Works with inventory, manufacturing, and production planning modules in ERP system.
- Coordinates with Product Director on costing analysis for new products. Implement all additions and change to product lines in Epicor system as needed.
- Performs manufacturing analysis - including budgets, forecasts, Long Range Plans (LRP.) Analyzes actual labor, material, and overhead cost against Standard/Budget. Research and explains variances. Reports this information as needed.
- Develops and maintain Bills of Materials for manufacturing. Interacts with Production Control to ensure Bills of Materials (BOM) are accurate and up to date. Reviews and audits BOM’s to ensure they reflect the latest manufacturing practices. Suggests changes and improvements as needed.
- Development of new labor and overhead rates, budget, bonus rates (points) and forecasts.
- Performs ad hoc product/plant cost analysis to support plant operations.
- Assists the Purchasing agent in analysis of product movement and trends. Assists with the development of buying forecasts.
- Performs inventory related cost analysis and auditing – Reviews invoices for accuracy and impact on cost structures. Research and explains issues and variances. Report this information as needed.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
- 6-10 years in an accounting position in a manufacturing environment.
- Supervisory experience over accounting functions preferred
- Exposure to manufacturing departments/staff/activities, cost accounting, reporting and variance analysis.
- BBA in Accounting or Business Administration preferred.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to support a cross-functional plant management team.
- Proven ability to prioritize objectives and duties. Willingness to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and changing priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills needed to think through complex situations and opportunities.
- Sound planning and organizational skills.
- Desire to drive continuous process improvements.
- High level of proficiency using PC spreadsheets (Excel preferred).
- Experience working with an ERP System, Epicor a plus.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes (bill of materials, assemblies, production rates)
