As Lead Product Manager, you will be a critical member of our team and will play a pivotal role in the growth and success of our company, while working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment that will challenge and inspire you. In this role, you will execute and manage our product roadmap and development for both our internal and external-facing web apps. Collaborating closely with management, engineers, technicians, leadership, and internal and external customers, you will define product requirements, prioritize features, gather customer feedback, and drive the development lifecycle to ensure excellent software experiences for our early adopting customers. Additionally, you will also ensure that the team is focused on delivering software that satisfies customer needs. Salary parameters for this role are based on experience, with a base in the $130,000 to $225,000 range. In addition, we also offer equity participation and full benefits. This position is onsite and will be based at our company headquarters in Redondo Beach, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Execute and manage the product strategy aligned with company goals and customer needs
- Maintain our product roadmap, prioritizing features based on business value and customer requirements
- Conduct customer interviews, surveys, and data analysis to identify user needs and pain points
- Collaborate with other team members across the company to translate business requirements into actionable tasks
- Be involved in ideation, planning, and execution stages of product development
- Create, prioritize, and maintain a product backlog with clearly defined user stories and acceptance criteria
- Oversee the entire development process, from concept to launch, ensuring timely and quality releases
- Monitor key performance indicators to measure product effectiveness and adapt strategies as needed
- Work cross-functionally with teams across the organization to understand their needs and build solutions accordingly
- Regularly update stakeholders on product developments, roadmap updates, and feature releases
- Ensure that stakeholders are aware of products and software features in development and have realistic, cross-functionally aligned expectations
- Write documentation for development processes and operations
- Adapt to change quickly and stay up-to-date with new technologies, tools, and third-party products that can benefit the organization
- Occasionally provide technical support to customers and help improve the overall customer experience
- Participate in hiring processes such as interviewing potential candidates and onboarding new team members
- Define high level customer requirements for MVP and beta version of the tool
- Not afraid to ask questions and dig into an unknown field such as wire harnesses
- Has the ability to pull in schedule and rearrange priorities quickly
- Ability to handle stressful timelines and deal with changing priorities
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years overall product management experience in a SaaS environment, with clear evidence of being a self-starter
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira
- Is technical and has some experience with software development best practices and web technologies
- Is willing to wear many hats and get hands dirty: e.g. jump in and tackle a small software development ticket
- Strong ability to analyze data and customer feedback to make informed decisions
- Is motivated, driven, able to self-teach new concepts and learn quickly
- Is creative, thinks outside of the box
- Possesses excellent communication skills; articulates clearly and has a clear preference for over-communication when confronted with a challenge
- Is a team player with high empathy; will set an example for future hires and contribute foundationally to company culture
- Demonstrated product management excellence either via portfolio or through the interview process
- Is, above all, a curious, quick, and ambitious learner
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands on experience in a manufacturing setting or in a complex logistics environment
- Experience product managing software built to meet government compliance standards (e.g. ITAR, HIPAA)
- Previous experience working at a fast-paced, high-growth startup
- Previous experience working at a large, well-established tech company
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience managing products with small engineering teams, adapting processes to suit the team's size and capability
- Have permission to live/work in the USA and be available to collaborate in a Pacific time zone workday
