We are seeking a detail-oriented Strategic Components Buyer to manage the procurement of critical materials and components for our wire harness manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where small teams take on diverse responsibilities. They will be proactive, results-driven, and committed to continuous improvement, with the ability to critically evaluate outcomes and drive performance across the team and company.
Compensation parameters for this role are based on experience, with a salary range in the $70,000-$110,000 range. In addition, we also offer equity participation and full benefits. This position is onsite and will be based at our company headquarters in Redondo Beach, CA.
Responsibilities :
- Source and procure components such as wires, connectors, terminals, and other materials critical to wire harness manufacturing.
- Identify, assess, and onboard new suppliers to expand the supply base while minimizing risks.
- Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives and improve supplier performance strategies to enhance production efficiency and profitability.
- Foster strong relationships with suppliers to ensure alignment on quality, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Conduct regular supplier audits to evaluate performance, compliance with industry standards, and adherence to company specifications.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to forecast component needs based on upcoming projects, ensuring seamless manufacturing processes.
- Ensure all components meet industry-specific and company-quality standards, collaborating with the quality team to address and resolve any quality-related issues.
- Stay informed about market trends, material price fluctuations, and potential disruptions to proactively manage risks and maintain supply chain stability.
- Take on special projects as needed to support the business needs and enhance the procurement function.
