Summary:
The Client Accounting Services Manager (CASM) is an important leadership role within the Sensiba Consulting Practice. Responsibilities include the full spectrum of delivery activities for our Early Stage, Start-Up Accounting offering. Duties include working with the founders and Sr. Management of our Early-Stage Start-Up clients to help them establish the systems, processes and procedures necessary to execute a periodic accounting close with reporting. This client enablement also includes setting up the necessary contract management and revenue recognition processes using an Excel model or one of our pre-selected SaaS contract software solutions. Strong understanding of SaaS revenue recognition and excel with high aptitude for learning systems is essential for success in this position.
Our CASM communicates directly with clients, participates in prospects discovery meetings, defines and documents business requirements and translates requirements to the appropriate level of service.
The CASM should be organized, analytical, and capable of working remotely and independently or as part of a team, adept at defining and adhering to schedules, and skilled in managing multiple priorities and people. The ideal candidate will also be skilled in communicating value propositions.
Job Responsibilities:
Technical Activities - additional tasks within this context may be required.
- Onboard new clients
- Provide direct accounting services to clients, including guiding management to best practice accounting and reporting processes.
- Actively recruit, train and supervise staff to support CAS Tech Start-Ups.
- Develop and consistently challenge process and technology stack employed to service clients.
Sales Activities - additional tasks within this context may be required.
- Qualification stage:
- Participate in qualification calls/meetings with prospects to gather preliminary information
- Document the prospect profile and fit for our service offering.
- Discovery stage:
- Participates and may lead Discovery sessions with prospects.
- Document results of the Discovery to gather pertinent information for a proposal.
- Solution Architecture stage:
- Match requirements uncovered in Discovery stage with Sensiba solutions.
- Proposal:
- Develop services proposal and participate in presentation of proposal to prospect.
- Contracts:
- Draft services Statement of Work.
Firm Specific
- Identify and pursue additional business opportunities for prospects and existing clients
- Maintain high client satisfaction ratings that meet firm standards
- Provide assistance to internal team members as needed
- Ability to breakdown complex information into easy to understand solution requirements
- Provide timely status reports/updates on work assignments to performance manager and firm management as required.
- Achieve utilization targets and track work time accurately within our time tracking system.
- Train, develop, mentor and manage assigned staff
- Special projects as needed
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with a proven track record of successful experience in professional services. The candidate must have excellent internal and external client-facing skills and experience developing and/or following a process-based methodology while working directly with clients through all phases of the project delivery lifecycle. The candidate should thrive in a dynamic, fast paced atmosphere that is much like a start-up environment, with a rapidly expanding client base. Additional qualifications the ideal candidate will have are shown below:
- Bachelor's degree required (in accounting or finance preferred)
- Minimum five (5) years' experience relevant experience in professional services and/or corporate equivalent.
- Experience with Quickbooks, Xero and similar is preferred.
- Sage Intacct, Netsuite and contract management software a plus.
- Knowledge of financial accounting and accounting principles, especially SaaS revenue recognition (CPA or similar is a plus).
- Adept at solving complex problems in a timely fashion while keeping all parties informed.
- Strong desire and ability to stay current on technical or industry developments
- Ability to travel to client sites as needed
- Strong desire and ability to actively engage with client management to solve problems and deliver solutions
- Team player with solid communication and presentation/product demonstration skills
