Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Director of Planning and Logistics to lead our planning and logistics functions. This role involves overseeing the end-to-end supply chain, including inventory management, transportation, and distribution. The incumbent will be responsible for setting strategic objectives, optimizing processes, and ensuring alignment with overall business goals. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in logistics and supply chain management, exceptional leadership abilities, and a track record of driving operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning:

• Develop and manage the integration of our Corporate S&OP process
• Develop and execute comprehensive strategies for supply chain management, logistics, and inventory control.
• Align planning and logistics objectives with broader company goals and business strategy.
• Conduct market analysis and demand forecasting to anticipate future needs and adjust strategies accordingly.
  
  

Operational Oversight

• Oversee the daily operations of logistics, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
• Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Ensure that operations meet quality standards, performance metrics, and compliance requirements.
  
  

Leadership And Management

• Lead and mentor a team of planning and logistics professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Set performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide coaching and development opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, and sales, to ensure seamless operations.
  
  

Budget And Financial Management

• Develop and manage budgets for planning and logistics activities, ensuring financial targets are met.
• Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement financial controls.
• Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and business cases to senior leadership.
  
  

Supplier And Partner Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and third-party logistics providers.
• Negotiate contracts and service level agreements to ensure optimal terms and performance.
• Address and resolve any issues related to supplier performance, delivery, or quality.
  
  

Technology And Innovation

• Leverage technology and data analytics to drive decision-making and improve supply chain efficiency.
• Stay current with industry trends and innovations, incorporating new technologies and methodologies as appropriate.
• Oversee the implementation of new systems or tools to enhance planning and logistics operations.
  
  

Compliance And Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
• Develop and enforce safety protocols and procedures to protect employees and assets.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, operational inefficiencies, or other factors.
  
  

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in supply chain management or logistics, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Skills:
• Proven experience in strategic planning, process optimization, and team leadership.
• Deep understanding of supply chain management, logistics, and inventory control.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in logistics and ERP software (i.e. Oracle), and familiarity with emerging technologies.
