As an Outside Sales Representative, you will convert potential customers into customers through door-to-door canvassing efforts. Provide landscape analysis and sell lawn care, tree care, pest control and other services. Support all sales efforts in geographic area and may support telephone sales work as needed.
Essential Functions
- Achieve and exceed assigned sales goals through performing a certain number of door-to-door visits each day.
- Analyze each resident’s lawns individually.
- Suggest appropriate professional sales and services to homeowners based on analysis.
- Provide clients with Blades of Green service manual and catalogue.
- Record customer’s details, product specifications and other sales paperwork.
Education, Experience and Competencies
- Consultative sales skills and strong verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of selling techniques (prospecting, overcoming objections, closing sales)
- Ability to find and assess potential sales opportunities
- Ability to build client relationships and provide client service
- Data entry skills with a mobile device
- Mathematical skill to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, proportions, percentages, area and volume
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and/or travel locally on an extensive basis via vehicle
- May be required to secure a solicitor's license based on geographic area
- May be required to work outside of normal schedule, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, as it may be necessary to fulfil the duties or the needs of the business.
- Expected to have regular attendance for scheduled shifts, and to notify supervisor within a timely manner of absenteeism or tardiness
- Maintain a neat and clean appearance as outlined in Blades of Green's employee handbook. Follow safety regulations and work in a safe manner
Work Environment
The team member will be required to walk in residential areas from property to property. The team member may experience, heat, cold, wind, humidity, or rain. The team member will travel from company site to job site by vehicle and the employee may be required to drive the vehicle. Vision abilities required for this job include close vision and using a computer and/or handheld device.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk or hear. The team member frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The team member may be required to carry marketing collateral, which consists of paper products. The team member may be required to lift or carry up to 25 pounds.
