POSITION / DEPARTMENT: Mechanical Inspector

LOCATION: Chatsworth, CA

SHIFT: Day shift: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, Monday thru Friday

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

Seeking a Quality Assurance Receiving Inspector, reporting to the Department Manager. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, motivated and can work under minimal supervision. The candidate must have prior experience in the field and have the ability to work with diverse personalities. Other qualities include good communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines. Additionally, but not limited to responsibilities listed below:

• Must be able to perform first article inspection reports in accordance with AS9102 standards. First Article Inspection Report include geometric dimensions and tolerances that affects form, fit, function and interchangeability. Providing uniformity in drawing specifications and their interpretation. (Ability to read and interpret drawings and tolerances)
• Must be able to use mechanical inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, comparators, indicators, surface plate, thread gauge, and other common inspection tools.
• Experience inspecting machining, castings, electronic components, surface finish including deburring, plating and welding.
• Local travel to suppliers' facility when necessary
• Ensures that all inspections and procedures are properly completed and documented following GDP practices.
• Proficiency and understanding to interpret GD&T drawings and blueprint reading.
• Perform other quality duties as assigned.
