Sentar is seeking a Lead Apache Kafka Software Developer in Huntsville, AL!
Role Description:
- Develops and configures Kafka event streaming platform to support use cases within an OpenShift Kubernetes DevSecOps platform with multiple high-performance pipelines supporting multiple producers and subscriber systems.
- Centerpiece of a modernization effort to prepare the Huntsville Operations Support Center (HOSC) to be able to conduct emerging Human Exploration Moon to Mars missions (e.g., Lunar Gateway, Human Landing System (HLS), Artemis, Space Launch System (SLS), Orion, etc.).
- This year will lead the preparation and deployment of an initial pilot capability that includes two producers and two subscribers.
- This position will lead the Kafka team and will work with the producer, subscriber, and DevSecOps platform teams to demonstrate an end-to-end capability.
- Multiple additional use cases are being prepared and this position would be a significant stakeholder in planning and shaping use case objectives and implementations.
- We are seeking someone with a mindset of leveraging emerging technology, tools, and processes to turbocharge Continuous Improvement, Innovations, and Efficiency projects to modernize the HOSC.
- Seeking a visionary with ideas that emphasize improved user experiences, native cloud-based prototypes, and architectures that emphasize resiliency improvements.
- Coordinates as needed as the Lead Event Streaming Developer (with the help of the Principal Architect and Container Application Architect) with all technical staff to include software developers, testers, and systems administrators and engineers to succeed on assigned projects
- Looking for someone with a passion for excellence, loves leading technical teams, and is a thought leader when it comes to finding ways to improve capabilities and processes.
Qualifications:
Clearance Level: Ability to obtain a NASA badge
Education: Minimum of an A.S. in Computer Programming, Software Engineering, or Information Technology or related field of study
Experience: 5 years preferred; 3 years minimum experience in Apache Kafka (Kafka) software development
