Sentar is seeking a Systems Engineer III!
The Systems Engineer III will play a key role in supporting the Defense Health Agency (DHA) under the Global Service Provider (GSP) contract. This position involves designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise IT systems to meet operational and security requirements across the DHAs network. The engineer will ensure systems operate efficiently, securely, and in compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) and DHA standards, contributing directly to the mission of delivering secure and reliable healthcare IT solutions to service members and their families.
Role Description:
Systems Design and Implementation:
- Design and deploy scalable IT infrastructure solutions tailored to DHAs mission needs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate functional requirements into technical specifications.
System Maintenance and Optimization:
- Perform routine maintenance, patching, and upgrades to ensure system availability and reliability.
- Identify and resolve system bottlenecks, optimizing performance and reducing downtime.
Compliance and Cybersecurity:
- Ensure all systems comply with DoD cybersecurity frameworks, including Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
- Assist with security audits and implement required mitigations to maintain system accreditation.
Integration and Troubleshooting:
- Perform system integration across diverse environments, ensuring compatibility with existing technologies.
- Troubleshoot complex issues, providing effective and timely resolutions to minimize mission impact.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze system performance metrics to recommend and implement process improvements.
- Provide detailed documentation and technical reports to support system evaluations and decision-making.
Collaboration and Training:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including cybersecurity, network engineers, and system administrators.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to enhance team capabilities.
Qualifications:
Clearance Level: Secret
Education:
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security , CISSP, or equivalent.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in systems engineering or IT infrastructure roles.
- Proven expertise in enterprise IT systems, virtualization, and cloud platforms.
- Experience with DoD networks, policies, and cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., RMF, STIGs).
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in system design and administration tools such as VMware, Microsoft Server, and Linux-based systems.
- Familiarity with monitoring and automation tools like Splunk, SolarWinds, and Ansible.
- Strong scripting abilities (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to automate system tasks.
