The Manager of Academic Affairs is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of educational programs aimed at improving the clinical knowledge and professional skills of physicians and other healthcare professionals. This position ensures that the CME activities align with the latest medical research, regulatory requirements, and the needs of the medical community. Additionally, the manager oversees the coordination and affiliation with partner institutions for clinical training for all health professions.
The manager oversees the coordination of Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities for physicians and other healthcare professionals. Using the current knowledge of compliance guidelines, this leadership role manages the Continuing Education Department for Sentara Health to ensure compliance with essentials and standards established required by national and state accrediting bodies. The manager must have expertise in adult education principles, medical content, and accreditation standards, as well as the ability to collaborate with medical experts, faculty, and internal teams to create high-quality educational experiences.

Education:
- Bachelors Level Degree Required (Related field of study)
- No required certifications or licensure
- Minimum two years (2) management experience
- Related experience working with Healthcare Professionals/Physicians
- Knowledge of education, compliance and standards (National and State) accreditation bodies
- Knowledge and experience with Adult education principles, accreditation and medical standards
