Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Supervisor (RN) Registered NurseHours/Shift: Rotating Shift, Part Time

Required: Acute Care - Previous experience, Nursing - 2 years, Nursing Leadership - 1 year
The Patient Care Supervisor is the liaison for administration who responds to all inpatient and outpatient emergencies. Works as patient advocate to address patient and family concerns. Resource leader for all members of the team. During nights, weekends, and holidays - the Patient Care Supervisor is the highest-ranking member of administration in the building, coordinating operations. They work in an overview position - not attached to any single unit within the hospital but involved in ALL of them.
Facility Highlights: Serving as a destination medical center in the mid-Atlantic region, Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is a Level 1 trauma center in Norfolk, Virginia, home to the Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance, region’s first Magnet® hospital and nationally ranked heart program at Sentara Heart Hospital. Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, on the Eastern Virginia Medical Campus, is a large 525-bed medical center, which serves as the primary teaching institution for the adjacent Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS). Our partnership with EVMS combines the latest innovations in technology, research, and clinical care, to offer advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services.

Job Summary
Responsible and accountable for administratively managing the hospital as the representative for the administrator on call. Possesses proficient clinical skills and serves as a resource to nursing staff, physicians, and the public. Coordinates and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate appropriate and efficient patient placement. Makes administrative decisions (in consultation with administrator on call, as needed) in regards to potential or actual problematic situations involving the hospital. May be responsible to coordinate patient care resources.
Qualifications:
N-4YR - RN-Bachelor's Level Degree (Required)
