What are the responsibilities and job description for the Emergency Department Director position at Sentara?
Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Emergency Department Director (Multisite)
Position Status: Full-time, Day Shift
Position Location: Onsite at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA and Sentara's stand alone ED in Lake Ridge, VA.
Position Summary:
Serve as mentor by role modeling a professional practice consistent with organization goals, customer service, clinical effectiveness, and standards of care.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible and accountable for daily Emergency Department operations.
- Responsible for the functioning and clinical care delivered in the unit.
- Leads the overall direction, budget and strategic planning of the unit.
- Contribute to the mission and goals of Sentara Healthcare as well as the requirements of all regulatory and/or accrediting agencies.
Minimum Requirements:
- BSN required - Master’s degree preferred
- Trauma experience preferred
- Certified Emergency Nurse preferred
- Healthcare Management – 3 years
- Emergency Department experience – 2 years
