Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital, located in Charlottesville, VA, is hiring a Patient Access Representative - Full Time schedule.
This is a float position Monday- Friday with varying 8-hour shifts from 6:30am - 7:00pm. Incumbent will work in the at the Proffit Road location, Spring Creek location, or Sentara Martha Jefferson hospital.
As a Patient Access Rep with Sentara, you will work in the Emergency Department, Patient Registration, or a doctor's office. This position's primary duties include positively identifying the patient, collecting demographic and insurance information, and admitting the patients. This role allows you to work with both clinical and non-clinical staff. If you desire, there are promotional opportunities into a Patient Access Rep II/III, Team Leader, and Team Coordinator. Requirements:
- 2 years of Data Entry Experience
- 2 years of Customer Service Experience
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree can be considered in lieu of two years of experience.
- 6 Months of healthcare experience highly preferred.
- Knowledge of third party payers, ICD-9/ CPT coding and medical terminology preferred
- Proficiency in clerical skills including electronic communication and keyboard required.
