What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapist Assistant-IPR/Acute Care position at Sentara?
This is a Full-Time Day shift opportunity.
As a Physical Therapist Assistant with Sentara, you will administer physical therapy treatments and procedures under the supervision of a physical therapist. May assist in the development of treatment plans, carry out routine functions, and document the progress of treatment within the scope of treatment plans established by a physical therapist.
Provides age-appropriate education for clients and caregivers. Supervise and assume responsibility for care provided by identified team members.
Qualifications:
Education: Physical Therapy Assistant Associate Degree
Certification: Physical Therapist Assistant License (PTA) – State License
Basic Life Support (BLS) – Certification – American Heart Association (AHA) RQI
SWRMC is an acute care hospital which also has a 6 bed IPR unit. The patients are seen for 3 hours of intensive therapy a day between occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy. The ideal candidate would have some IPR experience but not required. There is one PT in IPR so this PTA would be primarily supporting patient care on IPR in the afternoon and helping with acute care patients in the morning. There is a one weekend every 4 weeks requirement but also open to alternative schedules if the candidate was interested in a permanent weekend day.
