Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Power Plant Mechanic
Position Status: Full-time
Position Location: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk, VA
Position Summary:
The Power Plant Mechanic is experienced in all phases of steam generation, maintenance of boilers, chillers, and auxiliary equipment.
Responsibilities include monitoring power plant equipment; reading and interpreting control circuits, schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and specifications to determine proper operation. This individual tests, maintains, and repairs power plant equipment; monitors contractor's work to ensure quality and code compliance.
Standard Working Hours: This position is for 2nd shift - 3 PM - 11 PM. Holidays and Weekend Shifts are required as scheduled. Rotating shifts, as needed.Mission Essential Personnel
Minimum Requirements:
- Refrig Recovery Cert Type II, or Universal certification required.
- Refrig Recovery Cert Type III preferred.
- Driver's License
- Backflow Prevention Device tester's license required in most facilities.
