We are looking for someone who is friendly and dependable to work during the evening a few days a week and on Sunday at the front desk of an independent senior living community! This is a part-time, Front Office Receptionist role working 2-3 days a week during the week from 4:30p-8p, plus every Sunday from 9a-5p, 1-2 holidays per year, with occasional fill-in availability.

Job Purpose:
The Receptionist provides front desk and reception functions for the community.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Answers telephones and greets visitors to the community in a professional, friendly and welcoming manner.
- Interacts with residents and staff in a professional and friendly manner at all times and possesses compassion for seniors when appropriate.
- Transfers calls and takes messages accurately.
- Assists with resident activities and/or scheduling transportation for residents.
- Performs data entry as needed.
- May sort and distribute incoming mail.
- Ensures all guests and vendors in the building have signed in.
- Keeps reception area neat, clean and organized.
- Assists with marketing and mailings.
- Assists various departments with office duties as needed.
- Promotes and maintains positive relationships with co-workers, residents, family members and guests.
- Follows all OSHA, Fire, Health Department and safety requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Position requires sitting, standing and walking, sometimes for extended periods.
Qualifications:
- One year reception experience.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Competent in organization and time management.
- Must be computer literate.
- Ability to work well under stress, complete assignments accurately, and work independently.
- Effectively communicate in English with residents and other employees.
- Demonstrate desire to be a team player.
- Regular attendance is required.
Working conditions:
- May require working with challenging residents.
- Requires interaction with co-workers, residents, families, and vendors.
- Occasional weekend, evening, night and holiday work if needed.
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases and infections.
