We are seeking a motivated and versatile Generalist to join our independent living community! The ideal candidate will possess a diverse skill set that includes customer service, housekeeping, activities and food service. This position will have a strong focus on front desk and housekeeping. This role requires strong communication abilities and be able to change jobs at the drop of a hat. You will be working in multiple departments on any given day, so someone who is flexible, independent and patient is a must! This is a part time position up to 20 hours a week. Must have open and flexible availability including some weekends, evening and holidays being required. Typical shift would be a mid-shift from 11a-7pm on Friday's, Saturday, and Sunday's with some fill-in availability during the week.
Job Summary
The Generalist provides all duties as outlined in the job descriptions of various jobs assigned within the community.
Duties and responsibilities
- Interacts with residents and staff in a professional and friendly manner at all times and demonstrates compassion for seniors
- Receives full training in various positions within the community, including positions in food service; activities; reception; housekeeping; caregivers; transportation; and marketing.
- Rotates work in different departments/positions on a regular basis.
- May work various shifts as needed and when/if available.
- Promotes and maintains positive relationships with co-workers, residents, family members and guests.
- Follows all OSHA, Fire, Health Department and safety requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Position requires sitting, standing and walking, sometimes for extended periods. Push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Ability to work well under stress, complete assignments accurately, and work independently.
- Effectively communicate in English with residents and other employees.
- Demonstrate desire to be a team player.
- Regular attendance is required.
Working conditions
