Overview:
Sentinel Safety & Security Group, LLC is a dynamic strategic ownership group rapidly growing operations in the design, fabrication, installation, and maintenance of commercial fire sprinkler systems. We are looking to expand our team to include a Fleet Manager in our Appleton, WI corporate office.
The Fleet Manager will provide alignment, support, and ongoing maintenance of various program areas within the EHS function. This includes, but is not limited to, federal, local, and state compliance; assisting with vehicle claims processing; and special projects. The Environmental Health & Safety function at our business units covers manufacturing that takes place in the fabrication department, as well as on construction sites and in the office. The successful candidate will support over 150 vehicles and 400 employees by passionately pursuing innovative and effective safety solutions, with a primary focus on employee well-being, efficiency, and environmental awareness.

Fleet Manager Responsibilities:
- Vehicle management – Collaborate with operations to assess needs and working with procurement to assist in the acquisition and management of the fleet.
- Driver management – Oversee driver performance metrics, maintaining logs and records of vehicle inspections, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, including DOT/FMSCA regulations.
- Route management –Use web-based platforms to monitor and track specific data for safe and responsible driving.
- Safety – Ensure all drivers adhere to company policies while collaborating with department leaders to provide daily and weekly reports of violations.
- Compliance – Follow all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, while maintaining internal policies and reporting metrics through KPA.
- Customer service –Address and resolve customer complaints regarding any driver/vehicle incidents.
- Documentation – Maintain fleet documents and records through our monitoring systems.
- Reporting – Create and implement internal reports for analytical review in conjunction with KPA.
- Cost management – Collaborate with procurement and operations to identify cost savings where applicable, while maintaining fleet integrity.
- Fleet tracking – Manage fleet tracking system(s) to ensure safe practices and efficient methods for maintenance and repairs.
- Assist with special projects and assignments.
- Provide administrative support for safety training or education programs.
- Inspect fleet to ensure the presence of fire prevention equipment, safety equipment, or first-aid supplies.
- Update and develop job safety analyses and standard operating procedures.
Fleet Manager Qualifications:
- Experience with fleet management and safety programs.
- A two-year degree in safety, and/or fleet management desired related field is a plus.
- General insurance coverage and policy analysis skills as it relates to fleet management.
- Knowledge of DOT/FMSCA regulations procedures is preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 & 18001 preferred.
- Previous experience in a union environment is preferred.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel.
- Knowledge of Learning Management Systems is a plus.
- Possess strong attention to detail and accuracy.
