Responsibilities:

• Assisting with daily living activities like bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, transferring, and mobility, allowing them to maintain independence and quality of life in their homes.
• Deliver compassionate, personalized care to the client, enhancing her quality of life and in supporting independent living with individuals with disabilities.
• Attend interdisciplinary team meetings, agency team meetings and all other training sessions as directed by the organization.
• Ensure consumer health and safety during assigned hours of responsibility
• Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry, washing dishes, and vacuuming
• Complete daily reports with a summary of activities performed, self administered medication, and behavioral/attitude changes.
• Offer companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive environment.
• Empower individuals with disabilities to maintain as much independence as possible by providing support and guidance while encouraging self-care.
• Effective communication-Clearly communicating with the individual, their family, and other healthcare professionals

Experience and Skills:

• Prior caregiving experience or a similar role is desirable.
• Working with individuals with physical impairments
• Understanding of senior care principles and experience with autism care is beneficial.
• Knowledge of home care protocols and practices.
• Physical capability to perform job duties, including lifting and assisting with mobility.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Reliable transportation is a must.

Certifications and Education:

• Basic knowledge of first aid and CPR (certification preferred but not required)
• High School diploma or equivalent

Requirements:

• MUST have the ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds consistently
• Valid Driver's License
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with children or adults especially those with developmental disabilities or special needs is preferred
• Successful completion of a DOJ background check
