What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concrete Finisher position at Sentry?
We are looking to add more hard-working, go-getting rockstars to our concrete crew! This position primarily consists of working with our automated curb & gutter machine to prepare, pour, and finish concrete curb & gutter on a large scale. However, other general concrete projects are occasionally thrown into the mix; such as flatwork, foundations, etc.. Most of our work happens within a 1-hour drive from our location in Lake Norden, South Dakota.

Essential Job Functions:
- Assist in the preparation of each job site
- Cracking good jokes from time to time
- Helping set forms and tie rebar
- Work behind curb machine finishing concrete
- Finish ADA sidewalks and curb openings to spec
- Assist in loading, unloading, lifting, and moving of materials, parts, and tools, to and from site
- Operate hand & power tools, and other equipment as required to complete projects
- Perform assigned tasks to time standards and quality expectations
- Assist crew with clean-up and housekeeping duties around job site, trucks, and trailers, leaving job site clean and orderly
- Maintain professional, respectful relationships with internal and external customers
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with all safety procedures, rules, and regulations
- Assist other team members to get job done, as well as other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Manual Labor and Construction Experience
- Ability to appreciate good humor
- Concrete Finishing Experience
- Curb and Gutter Experience
- Basic ability to read a tape measure, blueprints and have basic math skills
- Decision-making skills
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug test.
Physical Demands:
- Routinely sitting, walking, standing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, reaching, and handling (ability to climb stairs, ladders, and roof ladders regularly), as well as working at heights
- Ability to lift at least (75) pounds
- Working near moving mechanical parts; near noise routinely, and exposed to outdoor elements
