Data Analyst Internship
Job Description
We are looking for a talented individual to work part time, temporary hours and assist with Software Development and Data Analysis. The ideal candidate will have a passion for problem solving, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, in the office environment. You will be responsible for developing and compiling performance data for our Project Management team. You will be responsible for helping our software development team with designing, developing, and maintaining software applications that meet the needs of our users.
Data Analyst Responsibilities:
- General
o Help identify important KPIs for the PM Department and means and methods of data collection
o Use PowerBI and build charts from data collection to show trends and historical data
o Assist in collecting, cleaning, and organizing large datasets.
o Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover trends and insights.
o Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations.
o Analyze data and generate actionable insights to support business decision-making.
o Work with teams to understand data requirements and help implement data-driven solutions
- Estimating
o Help estimating team develop a list of data to track on every bid tabulation
o Send bid tabs to bonding company
o Find data on competitors for specific projects and report to estimating
o Help identify means & methods for data collection and reporting
o Report weekly scorecard metrics as requested
o Identify and recommend metrics and tracking methods that might be helpful
o Collect and report on
§ Win/Loss ratio by job category
§ Sentry Margin by job category
§ Construction Margins by sector
§ Backlog vs 12 month revenue
- Job Costing
o Develop job costing scorecards and key data tracking
o Work with accounting and PM department to create red flag system
o Help identify or develop software and/or process for real-time job costing by category
o Assist in identifying job-costing solution to create consistency and reporting between project management and estimating
o Collect Data and build report for job cost vs. estimate on projects from the past 3 years
