What You’ll Do
As a Territory Manager, you will select agencies through identification of qualified partnerships. You will also:
- Solicit account through appointed business products independent agents and/or selected agents/brokers, or in response to inquiries from prospective clients, or referrals. Occasional direct solicitation may be involved.
- Initiate and implement market development programs designed to support and enhance market segmentation, penetration, sales and profitability.
- Evaluate prospective accounts and independent agencies to determine acceptability and work closely with management, Underwriting, Loss Control and Claims in determination of acceptability of the risk and the services needed.
- Serve as the primary contact with assigned accounts and agencies. Develop and maintain relationships/services, procedures and contacts for assigned business products accounts and agencies.
- Provide comprehensive sales expertise to independent agents to increase production.
- May take on field underwriting responsibilities for some territories.
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
- 5 years of related work experience
- Thorough knowledge of insurance products in field of specialization, selling methods, and sales techniques.
- Previous commercial lines insurance experience, preferably in sales, claims, or safety
- Effective human relations, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record with a valid driver’s license and ability to meet travel requirements.
