Job Title: Engineering Technician - Systems
Employee Duties & Responsibilities
The Engineering Technician - Systems will design, develop, document and provide guidance on all electrical and mechanical systems associated with New and Legacy boat models. This key position will provide guidance on all product and process development, manages the process, handles BOM, and develops best practices for the Production Teams to maximize efficiencies.
Key Accountabilities:
- Reporting to the manager of Engineering, provide leadership, mentoring, and direction on how to build new and current models to the assembly team members to maintain the integrity of the product and assembly line.
- Provide a managed work environment that openly promotes creativity, innovation, brainstorming, and individualism while ensuring alignment with company and process improvements.
- Work with Key stakeholders when going through the design process to ensure that designs follow scope and project planning.
- Utilize 3D modeling software (Inventor & Rhino) and 2D drawing software (AutoCad) to produce models, drawings, and standard operating procedures.
- Develop and provide manufacturing drawings, fixtures, and production aides.
- Assist in the assembly of prototype and production parts and boats to ensure accurate build of product.
- Work with suppliers to design and order prototype parts to validate fitment and functionality prior to production ordering.
- Evaluate the most efficient tools for the job; then facilitate the use and storage of these tools.
- Evaluate parts and procedures on designs introduced in manufacturing.
- Assist with resolution of any engineering issues.
- Prepare and submit engineering change requests / notices, and deviations for technical problem resolutions and assist in development and accuracy of Bills of Materials.
- Provide technical support / project management as assigned on engineering special projects.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent industry experience in Electrical Engineering. Professional certification(s) preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience working with marine manufacturing-based technology, processes, and procedures.
- Knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
- CAD software experience with focus on 3D solid modeling, freeform modeling, and 2D information development.
- Hands on manufacturing experience for industrial equipment and familiarity with both traditional and advanced manufacturing methods.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5s, Six Sigma skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Strong team player with the ability to develop effective relationships with all business stakeholders.
- Strong time and project management skills; highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple duties.
- Ability to lead, influence and motivate a team.
- Ability to work and facilitate within a high pressure, fast-paced working environment.
- Works well under pressure and able to remain calm in difficult situations.

Experience:
- Must be proficient in communicating at all levels of both oral and written form and competent at preparing professional comprehensive memorandums, letters, reports, documents, files.
- Technical writing skills utilizing a creative and analytical approach.
- Adequate knowledge of engineering analysis tools, mathematical computing and analysis tools knowledge, and a solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics
- Familiarization with governing bodies and regulations (ABYC, USCG, NMMA, etc.)
