Position: Forklift Operator 

Status: Fulltime, Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 6:30am to 3:30pm, with flexibility for overtime as needed. 

Location: Savannah, GA 31302

As we expand our operations, we are seeking a Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team.

Position Overview:

The Forklift Operator will be responsible for operating specialized forklifts (ie. 3 way narrow aisle, reach truck, turret truck, stand up forklift, order picker, cherry picker) within narrow aisle environments. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards to ensure the efficient movement and storage of goods within the manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Forklift Operation: Safely operate various type of forklift (ie. 3 way narrow aisle, reach truck, turret truck, stand up forklift, order picker, cherry picker) to move, load, and unload materials within the warehouse.
• Material Handling: Retrieve and store products in high-density storage areas, ensuring items are placed accurately and securely.
• Inventory Management: Assist in tracking and maintaining accurate inventory records by scanning and logging material movements.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and company procedures to prevent accidents and injuries. Conduct daily inspections of the forklift to ensure it is in proper working condition.
• Order Fulfillment: Support the picking and packing of orders by retrieving materials and staging them for shipment.
• Maintenance: Report any mechanical issues or necessary repairs to the maintenance team. Perform minor maintenance tasks as needed.
• Collaboration: Work closely with facility staff, supervisors, and logistics teams to ensure the timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 1 years of experience operating various types of forklift in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
• Valid forklift operator certification is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
• Good understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, load lists, and safety instructions.

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting: Regularly lift and carry up to 30 pounds; occasional heavier lifting.
• Standing: Stand for extended periods, often the entire shift.
• Walking: Frequent walking, including on uneven surfaces.
• Bending/Stooping: Regular bending, stooping, and crouching.
• Manual Dexterity: Use hands/arms to handle materials and operate tools/machinery.
• Pushing/Pulling: Push/pull heavy objects like carts or equipment.
• Repetitive Motions: Perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements.
• Climbing: May climb ladders or steps to access materials.
• Vision: Good vision for inspecting materials and operating machinery.
• Hearing: Hear alarms and signals in a noisy environment.
• Environment: Work in varying temperatures, with exposure to dust, fumes, and noise.
• PPE: Must wear required PPE including safety shoes.
