Position: Purchasing Specialist 

Status: Fulltime, Exempt

Location: Savannah, GA

Company Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services to meet the company’s operational needs while ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery. The ideal candidate should have experience working with SAP for procurement activities and must be able to coordinate with various departments to ensure smooth purchasing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day purchasing activities using SAP systems, including requisitions, purchase orders, and supplier invoicing.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms (price, quality, delivery).
• Maintain and update supplier databases and relationships.
• Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and regulations.
• Collaborate with internal teams such as operations, finance, and inventory management to align purchasing efforts with business needs.
• Monitor and report on purchasing metrics, such as cost savings, supplier performance, and delivery timelines.
• Work closely with the finance team to resolve any invoice discrepancies.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends, market conditions, and emerging suppliers.
• Assist in the continuous improvement of purchasing processes and systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 3 years of experience in a purchasing/procurement role, with a proven track record in managing procurement operations.
• Proficiency in SAP with hands-on experience in creating purchase orders, managing vendor information, and processing invoices.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the automotive parts manufacturing industry.
