Position Summary:
This individual must be a self-motivated, detail oriented and energetic scientific person. This is an entry-level full time non-exempt position in the Production department and based at our growing facility located in Newark, Delaware.
Requirements:
· · Must have an Associate or Bachelor degree with a major in Chemistry.
· Recent graduate, prefer 1-2 years laboratory/industrial or chemical manufacturing work experience.
· Knowledge of material science a plus.
· Experience with HPLC instrumentation and organic synthesis.
· Excellent oral and written communications skills along with multi-tasking skills.
· Excellent organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail and confidentiality.
· Positive attitude with ability to work well in a group environment.
· Proficient computer skills to utilize Microsoft software and an ERP system for day-to-day operations.
· Ability to communicate results of experiments through proper record keeping.
· Physically fit to stand, bend and twist with ability to lift 40 pounds.
Responsibilities:
· Synthesis of polymer materials for chromatographic separation.
· Operation of HPLC instruments to characterize polymeric resins.
· Perform application experiments under supervision while following Standard Operating Procedure requirements.
· Maintain record keeping in notebooks and logs that are proper, thorough and legible.
· Utilize and maintain the ERP system to optimize daily departmental functions.
· Performance of general housekeeping maintenance throughout the laboratory and tidiness in work areas.
· Observe safety precautions as outlined in safety manuals and training.
