We are seeking candidates for the position of Chief Technical Training Instructor (7014)- Welding in the HR/Training.

Salary Range: Min: $76,492.00 - Mid: $95,602.00 - Max: $114,712.00
OVERALL DESCRIPTION
Supervises and coordinates daily activities of Instructors and ensure related maintenance training is developed and presented as needed.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises and coordinates daily activities of Instructors.
- Assists in the development of comprehensive programs for employee development applicable to related areas of maintenance and matters of safety.
- Develops the instructional and technical abilities of Instructors through classes, seminars, and special programs.
- When directed, assists in the accident investigations and analysis of statistics.
- Coordinates divisional instruction programs with maintenance, operations facilities, and engineering departments.
- Teaches methods of instruction, leadership class, student and instructor training, and other training courses, when necessary.
- Provides technical assistance to other SEPTA departments.
- When directed, assists maintenance/operations supervision during service interruptions and other unusual occurrences.
- Ensures that all policies and procedures of the Authority, maintenance departments, operating departments, facilities department and training department are enforced.
- Backfills for Manager of Training.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Welding:
- High School Diploma plus eleven (11) years total of related maintenance experience which includes a minimum of two (2) years current experience as a Technical Instructor.
- An equivalent combination of advanced education and experience (one (1) year of education equates to two (2) years experience), may be considered. Current experience as a Technical Instructor required, regardless of the equivalency.
- Instructor experience must be current (within last five (5) years), due to knowledge of current technology utilized, licensure and certification regulations.
- Knowledge of related maintenance policies and procedures, and applicable Labor Agreements. (Welding) - must possess AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), Certified Welding Educator (CWE) credentials.
- (Welding) - must be a Certified Welder ASW D1.1.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint). Must be proficient in the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Strong planning, scheduling and administrative skills required. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
