Job Overview

The Director of Clinical Operations will provide high-level direction and oversight to a team of Clinical Operations Managers across the nation responsible for monitoring and supporting the progression of customers through the training journey for Sequel devices. The Director’s role is to make sure the training journey is optimized and seamless supporting a positive customer training experience. The Director will act as a liaison between Sequel and contracted centers while driving operational excellence, scalability, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties

Leadership and Oversight :

  • Provide guidance and leadership to a team of Clinical Operations Managers, ensuring consistent practices for tracking and monitoring the training journey.
  • Act as the primary liaison between operations and senior sales leadership to ensure alignment and effective communication of customer training progression data.
  • Oversee the coordination of processes supporting external trainers and centers, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor team performance metrics to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of customer progress through the training journey.

Operational Support and Monitoring :

  • Supervise the monitoring of the customer journey milestones to identify bottlenecks, provide actionable insights to sales leadership, and support solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Ensure training documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Guide the team in identifying and addressing unexplained gaps in the training journey, providing senior- level insight and support for resolution.
  • Oversee the onboarding and certification processes for external trainers, ensuring timely completion and adherence to annual requirements.
  • Coordination with External Trainers and Centers

  • Manage the overall nomination, contracting, and onboarding process for external trainers and training centers within the region.
  • Oversee communication of product updates and training requirements to external trainers to ensure alignment with company standards.
  • Monitor the utilization and invoicing of external trainers, ensuring adherence to budget and operational guidelines.
  • Collaboration and Communication

  • Serve as a key point of escalation for operational challenges, offering senior-level guidance to COMs and sales leadership.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with sales leadership to review training journey insights and discuss progress, gaps, and areas of improvement.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration and open communication between the operations team, sales leadership, and external trainers.
  • Minimum Requirements

  • A valid professional license in one or more of the following fields : RN, RD, PA, NP, Pharmacist.
  • Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) is preferred.
  • 8 years of experience in operations, healthcare program management, or diabetes education, with significant experience managing teams and coordinating with sales functions.
  • Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on providing guidance and mentoring to team members.
  • Proven experience in operational oversight, with a demonstrated ability to monitor and report on key performance metrics.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring compliance and consistency across operations.
  • Ability to manage budgets and oversee vendor utilization.
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) for tracking and documentation purposes.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Environmental / Safety / Physical Work Conditions

  • Ensures environmental consciousness and safe practices are exhibited in decisions.
  • Use of computer and telephone equipment and other related office accessories / devices to complete assignments
  • May work extended hours during peak business cycles and occasional weekends.
  • Physical requirements such as lifting specific weights.
  • Some travelling is expected
