Description
The main responsibility is for all activities related to the company’s accounting and financial activities (including monthly financials, financial analysis, forecasting, business strategy, budgets, and personnel) related to the production and delivery of all Sequel Wire and Cable projects and products. This position will oversee and manage the Accounting Manager, Purchasing Administrator and other positions as the company grows.
The Controller ensures the management of the finances of the organization, overseeing the accounting and financial functions. These functions include: financial policies, compliance with financial and accounting regulations, preparing and managing budgets, managing financial reports and documents, performing financial risk assessments and internal/external auditing, assisting with corporate financial decisions and supervising staff.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversees the preparation of financial statements ensuring their accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
· Manages the accounting functions of the organization.
· Develops financial plans, policies, forecasts and re-forecasts for all aspects of the growing business including capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
· Provides support to CFO in preparing reports and key analytics to running the business.
· Capable of making strategic business decisions utilizing financial insights and analyses.
· Collaborates with team members in implementation of key projects leading transformation of data into valuable information.
· Prepares/oversees budgets for organization/departments ensuring alignment with company goals.
· Performs financial risk assessments and internal audits.
· Forms internal financial policies, procedures, and controls.
· Ensures all payments are completed on-time and manages cash flow.
· Recommends benchmarks used to measure company performance.
· Collaborates with CFO in managing debt effectively and making corrections to inefficiencies.
· Assesses productions costs and continuous improvement of utilization of ERP (Rubicon) gathering data for financial system usage.
· Works with external auditors and provides needed information for annual audit.
· Project management with special projects as assigned.
· Ensures compliance with local, state and federal government requirements.
· Supervisor/Team leader of Accounting Manager, Purchasing Administrator and additional staff as growth occurs. Leads team members and ensures that they are equipped to be successful in performing many back-office functions for the company.
· Develops, measures, trains, and maintains a culture of continuous improvement in accounting.
· Recruits new staff as needed.
· Maintains the utmost confidentiality in all aspects of the company’s financials.

Education, Experience, and Other Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or MBA
· 5 years in accounting with previous experience as a Controller with supervisory experience.
· Previous experience in a manufacturing setting strongly preferred.
· Experience with Accounting software, Microsoft Office (being highly proficient in Excel) and ERP systems.
· Strong acumen to all accounting and financial analysis complexities of a manufacturing company.
· Highly organized with attention to detail and accuracy.
· Results driven: Focused on individual and team success by being accountable to deadlines, customer needs and collaboratively working together to achieve these goals.
· Wire and cable industry experience strongly desired.
Physical Requirements
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
· Must be able to traverse the production facility.
· Able to travel as needed.
