Role Overview: The specific responsibilities listed below are all connected dealing with being proactive in collecting data on each line and assessing this data. This newly executed data analysis will be spearheaded by this manager. It is expected that reporting on the data collected would be shared, along with recommendations for improvement, to the overall quality systems. The Quality Engineering Manager would be responsible to oversee the research and implementation of new, value add equipment and monitoring/reporting methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
DATA COLLECTION
1. Be proactive in collecting data from each line and reporting on tolerances.
2. Recommend solutions that detect and/or prevent inaccuracies in the line PRIOR to getting to the customer.
3. Gain a deep understanding/working knowledge of Sequel’s quality control program, company standards, procedures, software in order to collect information regarding possible new technology, process improvement, etc.
4. Design and Implement inspection control methods and witness tests applicable to determine acceptability of work.
5. Assist in preparation/implementation of quality control procedures i.e. inspection instructions, control measuring and test equipment, etc.
6. Assist in maintaining work performance records, inspection records and other related items, insuring accuracy of all documentation.
7. Participate in internal/external quality control audits.
APPLYING TECHNOLOGY
1. Visualize and understand how technology can be applied to improve the quality of product produced on each line.
2. Assist in coordinating quality control inspection schedules with other department schedules.
3. Assist in reviewing purchase documents to insure compliance with quality control requirements.
4. Acts as a technical advisor regarding projects, tasks and operations.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
1. Manage the purchasing and implementation of new equipment from a quality perspective.
2. Analyze and provide reporting on the value add of new equipment.
OUTSIDE VENDOR RESEARCH FOR QUALITY IMPROVEMENT
1. Research and recommend new equipment options to improve our output.
2. Attend trade shows to keep up to date on new technology and develop relationships with vendors.
SUPERVISORY
1. Will supervise Quality Engineer in day to day performance
OTHER, as assigned
1. Participate in Rubicon projects to bring quality and efficiencies into the system making it viable/visible to all.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or related scientific field
- 5 years’ experience in support of QA in a manufacturing setting
- An understanding of quality controls manufacturing a product with specifications in a continuous process environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office, being highly proficient with Excel
- Strong knowledge of QA/QC practices, principles and methodologies
- Proficient in implementing and maintaining Quality Systems
- Strong organizational and project management skills with an attention to detail and accuracy
- Results driven: Focused on individual and team success by being accountable to deadlines and collaboratively working together
- Wire and cable industry experience strongly desired
