What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Coordinator position at Sequoia Living, Inc.?
We are hiring a Program Coordinator who develops, coordinates, and implements programs and activities which encourage the social, emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual development of residents and celebrates the cultural diversity within the community. Topics reflect the interests and needs of the residents. This includes, but is not limited to educational, intellectual, cognitive, lifelong learning, cultural, fitness, health / wellness, and development programs. The Program Coordinator is a member of the inter-disciplinary team composed of property management and resident services staff. What You Will Do :
- Develops, coordinates and implements programs and activities, along with residents and staff, that encourage the social, emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual development of residents.
- Interviews residents to determine resident needs, interests, and abilities. Gathers information from the residents on the talents that they may have to contribute to the community. Promotes and encourages volunteerism within the community.
- Encourages resident participation in collaboration with the Resident Services Coordinator, specifically engaging frail, home-bound, non-English speaking, and other residents who are less likely to participate.
- Creates monthly calendars, flyers and invitations. Decorates assigned areas to recognize a full spectrum of holidays and diverse groups. Promotes programs through invitations, flyers, and follow up / reminder calls to residents.
- Coordinates the set up and break down and is physically present and engaged during programs. Maintains inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment and stays within budget.
- Works collaboratively with the Resident Services Coordinator to conduct an annual Resident Satisfaction survey and maintains up-to-date records on program attendance in AASC Online.
- Utilizes community resources to assist in conducting programs. Provides updates about resources and information to residents and their family members.
- Creates and maintains an up-to-date database of programs and providers which are shared with the Resident Services team.
- Recognizes and reports concerns regarding residents' physical, mental, and / or emotional status to the Resident Services Supervisor and Resident Services Coordinator with urgency and in a timely manner.
- Performs other work as assigned.
