Construction Project Engineer
Overview :
The Construction Project Engineer will be responsible for assisting with managing and overseeing construction projects from inception to completion. This role involves coordinating with various team members, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, document control, assistance in managing cost and schedules, and resolving any issues that arise during the construction process. The Construction Project Engineer will report to the Head Estimator and our Project Manager and work closely with architects, contractors, and other engineers. This position will be on site in Roseville, CA.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Assist in Estimating
a. Setup bid invitations.
b. Follow up with bidders.
c. Upload and organize bid documents.
d. Go on occasional bid walks.
2. Quality Assurance and Compliance :
a. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure quality workmanship.
b. Photo Documentation of work to be done daily.
3. Coordination and Communication :
a. Serve as the primary point of contact between the project team, contractors, for RFI’s and submittals.
4. Resource Management :
a. Manage subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of services and materials.
5. Documentation and Reporting :
a. Maintain accurate project documentation, including permits, and inspection reports.
b. Document and resolve any construction-related issues or disputes.
c. Document meetings in Procore.
Qualifications :
1. Experience working as a Construction Project Engineer or equivalent field experience.
2. 2 years working for a small to mid-size General Contractor.
3. 5 years of experience working in the Construction industry.
4. Excellent knowledge of construction techniques, processes, and best practices.
5. Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, submittals, change order pricing, and construction documents.
6. Ability and willingness to pick up the phone and call subcontractors daily.
7. Be a creative problem solver.
8. Experienced with construction project management software and tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, etc.
9. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage your own schedule.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with GC, PM / PE, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
