Overview
The Facilities Assistant plays a vital role in maintaining the overall functionality and aesthetics of our facilities. This position involves a variety of tasks related to groundskeeping, landscaping, and general maintenance to ensure that our environment is safe, clean, and welcoming. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills in outdoor maintenance, as well as regular maintenance knowledge to assist in the facility when needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform regular groundskeeping duties including mowing, trimming, and maintaining landscape areas.
- Assist in landscape maintenance tasks such as planting, digging, and hardscape installation.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities and grounds to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards.
- Support the installation and upkeep of gardens, trees, and other outdoor features.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Assist in the facility when needed to complete regular maintenance
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work to complete repairs
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
- Proficiency in garden care including planting, pruning, and general upkeep.
- Knowledge of landscape maintenance practices including mowing, tree trimming, and hardscape installation.
- Ability to dig and perform physical tasks associated with outdoor work.
