Community Engagement Specialist
The Community Engagement Specialist is responsible for overseeing a range of community relations, marketing, communications, and networking activities.
- Responsible for developing community relations for Ser Familia’s activities and programs.
- Oversees community engagement events internally and externally, including meetings, presentations to community organizations, service clubs, schools, churches etc. Help identify relevant community events and coordinate participation in these events.
- Develops and maintains effective relationships with community and local government agencies.
- Attend scheduled outreach and community events, canvass neighborhoods and businesses. Attend relevant community meetings, participate in relevant councils, roundtables and committees as requested by the Chief Executive
- Conducting outreach with community members and leaders to identify potential clients based on different individual or group needs such as: emergency assistance, mental health needs, counseling, etc.
- Conduct in-person or virtual outreach to businesses and service providers to share information about the services provided by Ser Familia, Inc.
- Represent SFI at community events, meetings, health fairs and other public forums to increase community awareness of SFI mission and vision.
- In charge of leading Ser Familia's efforts to recruit clients (participants) for the organization's programs.

Minimum Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University in Marketing, Social Work, Communications etc or equivalent in experience providing Case Management or outreach for a Nonprofit organization or business providing community services.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Wiling to commute to different areas within or outside the county. Occasional traveling out of state may be required.
- Willing to work extended hours when needed to attend events, fairs and other related activities.
- Proficient computer skills: MS Word, Salesforce and presentation software.
- Fully Bilingual; Spanish & English (Verbal, Read and Written)
- Valid driver’s license. (Required)
