Job Overview
As a Trainee, you will embark on a comprehensive training program to develop skills in various aspects of you employment goals, including customer service, sales, and retail operations, etc.
Requirements
- Age 55 or older
- Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
- Living in a household with income of no more than 125 percent of the federal poverty level
Priority enrollment is available to those who meet these criteria:
- Age 65 years or older
- Have a disability
- Limited English proficiency or low literacy skills
- Reside in a rural area
- Veterans
- Have low employment prospects
- Are homeless or at risk of homelessness
Experience
No Experience Necessary.
SER National is one of the nation's providers operating Senior Community Service Employment Programs (SCSEP), made possible through generous support from the U.S. Department of Labor, which provides grants to nonprofit organizations and state governments.
Through SCSEP, job candidates who are 55 or older:
- Receive up to 20 hours/week of paid training and work experience
- Gain valuable skills and experience
- Build self-confidence
- Use their skills and talents to improve the community by training in a wide variety of locations, including offices, hospitals, daycare centers, senior centers and other community organizations
