In this role, you will:
- Be responsible for the overall planning, direction and success of major projects, systems development efforts, and research or technology initiatives which have great significance to NAVSEA. Programs are typically large, multi-year efforts divided into several sub-programs/tasks.
- Collect, review, and analyze information to make recommendations to the Government.
- Define the nature and extent of problems.
- Analyze relevant data, which may include annual revenues, employment, cost performance, schedule or expenditures.
- Develop solutions to problems.
- Prepare recommendations, understand the nature of the organization, the relationship it has with others in the Government, and its internal organization and culture.
- Prepare and solve mathematical models.
- Report findings and recommendations to the Government.
- Reports are usually submitted in writing, but oral presentations regarding findings also are common. For some projects, management analysts help implement the suggestions they have made.
- Establish and control of technical milestones, schedules, budgets and costs.
- Collect technical data from appropriate documentation (e.g., technical manuals and internal and external reports), automated files, and other staff.
- Determine and interpret equipment characteristics data, perform necessary analysis, and transcribes to required formats.
- Assist staff in moderately technical aspects of project work.
- Acquire a working knowledge of customer databases and of the types of information stored in each file.
- Assist in the preparation of appropriate technical documentation.
- As required, verbally present information at project review sessions and in informal interface with customers.
- Comply with security procedures in the performance of duties.
- Bachelor's Degree in a Business or technical field with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in engineering/science management, operations research analysis or financial/cost analysis. Significant experience in U.S. Navy programs or operations.
- An active Secret Security Clearance.
- Experience in the operation, management and sustainment of maritime vessels.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Proficiency in technical writing.
- Proficiency with MS-Office software to include MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, and MS Power Point.
- Travel up to 10% may be required.
