Field Service Engineer provides support in managing electro optics systems. Troubleshoots problems within project / program, providing analysis and solution recommendations. Expertise and work efforts are focused on the analysis of customer's business goals, objectives, needs and the general business environment to solve technical problems. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Reports to a Program Manager or head of a unit / department under limited supervision. This position will support onsite NIWC customer facilities in San Diego, CA along with some remote support.
In this role, you will :
The Field Service Technician will perform scheduled and corrective maintenance, integration, testing, field installation, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment and systems.
- Provide sound and seasoned technical judgement that follows company policies and procedures in meeting customer obligations.
- Conduct mechanical and hydraulic maintenance and operation of all undersea systems and supporting equipment.
- Maintain teams and systems in the highest state of readiness to meet US Government requirements.
- Be able to document maintenance and operational activities in accordance with applicable procedures
- Work within a team to resolve technical issues.
- Formulate methods and processes which will increase safety, efficiency, and readiness.
- Ability to operate Naval Small Craft such as 11M Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats (RHIB); may include holding a USCG Captain's license.

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary for this role is $93,535.65 to $155,892.76 however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education / training, and key skills.
