What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Maintenance Helper - Dayton, OH position at Serco North America?
As a Fleet Maintenance Helper, you can expect to:
- Assist Mechanics with Systematic analysis and diagnose of vehicle malfunctions.
- Assist Mechanic when he/she is isolating the cause of malfunctions and making corrective repairs
- Assist in the Removal and replacement of defective components.
- Provides assistance during repairs, adjustments, or overhaul of complete assemblies and components.
- Cleans and organizes parts and components.
- Cleans engine compartments, assemblies and/or sub-assemblies under a mechanics supervision.
- Washes vehicles as directed.
- Perform minor repairs with direction and supervision of a mechanic.
- Performing lubrication tasks and minor adjustments.
Mechanics Helpers report directly to the Lead Mechanic or to Mechanic on site.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 0-2 years mechanical service experience
- Must be a citizen of the United States.
- Must read, write, speak and understand English with analytical, communication and human interaction skills.
- Vocational training a plus
