Serco supports the Navy as the prime professional support services contractor for the Amphibious Assault and Connectors Program. We are seeking a dynamic and adaptable Deputy for the Landing Craft Integration Team to ensure alignment between the acquisition and construction of the Navy’s new Ship to Shore Connector (SSC) Division and the Life Cycle Management Division of the Legacy LCAC and LCAC 100 Class craft.
In this role you will:
- Hit the ground running by providing direct support to the Landing Craft Integration Task Lead to ensure the seamless transition of new SSC craft as they are turned over to the Fleet and enter the Life Cycle Management and Sustainment phase.
- Provide daily coordination and support to the SSC, LCAC, and LCU 1700 Principal Acquisition Program Managers (PAPM).
- Manage support team priorities to ensure high quality products are delivered to the customer on time.
- Attend meetings with the customer and ensure minutes of action items are documented and completed.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring all milestones are achieved on time.
- Communicate effectively with the customer daily, providing updates on program status and promptly addressing any concerns.
- Identify and implement solutions to operational challenges, ensuring the highest quality standards are met.
- Prepare high-level internal program briefs, presentations, and white papers for internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate with government entities and understand compliance requirements related to product deliverables.
- Participate in regularly scheduled meetings with the LCAC team including Staff Meetings, budget reviews, and other relevant meetings, including taking minutes and identifying and tracking action items to resolution.
- Perform regular tasking in the Integrated Data Environment (IDE).
- Set up and run high-level meetings for the customer.
- Mentor and support team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, high quality performance, and professional development.
- Travel to support the Program Office when needed.
- Provide timely and efficient responses for all urgent SSC tasking.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, plus 5-7 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, Serco will consider a candidate with 9 years or more of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of DoD and USN Policies and Procedures pertaining to Financial Management is strongly desired.
- Strong critical thinking skills, as well as customer and organizational level communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills are essential to being successful in this role.
- Exceptional organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and personnel simultaneously.
- Ability to think critically and innovate under pressure, with a strong focus on problem solving.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office suite programs especially Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- The ability to work both in a team environment and independently, and often under short-notice deadlines.
- The ability to work on-site at the Washington Navy Yard when required.
- Must be able to travel to the shipbuilder in the Gulf Coast and to Naval Bases to support meetings and conferences for the customer.
Additional desired experience and skills:
- Knowledge of the Navy’s Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) processes and policies.
- Prior experience leading teams to success.
