Position Description

If you want to work on cutting edge Air Force programs, Serco has a great opportunity for you!   Serco is seeking a talented System Engineer to join the team onsite at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio government program office (No telework/remote work at this location).

This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain/transfer an active DoD Secret security clearance.

This position supports the Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Program Office (PNT PO) with cutting edge modernization / development, and ongoing sustainment of a variety of GPS receivers and user equipment to meet DoD and national-level priorities.

In this role, you will:

• Duties include supporting the identification, documentation, and implementation of acquisition and sustainment related activities to plan, develop and implement program strategies across multiple OTA, MTA, and ACAT programs; and milestone preparation and documentation.
• Liaison work with other AFLCMC Program Offices, and operational units across DoD involved with GPS/PNT modernization activities.
• Provide expertise in support of the overall project lead, Integrated Product Teams, conferences, and meetings.
• Responsible for providing acquisition management support services to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of products in support of the customer’s mission.  Services include some or all of the following:
  • Develop new approaches to problems encountered and support the management of acquisition strategies for assigned projects, as directed by the project lead.
  • Evaluate program and mission requirements to establish detailed objectives and integrate these activities with other program and functional elements within the program office and outside organizations.
  • Implement plans by preparing and reviewing program documents, including detailed acquisition plans, development and production schedules, engineering change proposals, and design studies.
  • Perform contractor-designated activities for assigned projects and identify problem areas for further study and evaluation.
• Assist with defending the program position at program reviews, conferences, and other functions by providing higher level management with status and decision information on assigned programs/projects.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A U.S. citizenship.
• An active DoD Secret security clearance.
• A Bachelors Degree.
• At least 10 years related acquisition experience
• Participated in the development, coordination, and execution of major program milestones (preferably ACAT 1 but ACAT II/III acceptable).
• Experience with defense acquisition management processes as contained in the DoD 5000 series directives.
• A clear understanding of the OSD and USAF Acquisition organization.
• An excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• The ability to travel 10%.

Additional desired skills and qualifications:

• Top Secret Clearance.
• 4 years acquisition experience in a System Program Office.
• Experience with GPS systems, electronics, and/or aircraft integration.
• Level II DAWIA Certification (Acquisition Program Manager).
