Position Description
Serco-NA is actively seeking a motivated individual to provide conversion migration support to the United States Air Force Civil Engineering NexGen project. In this role, you will work with our dynamic NexGen team to support base migration deployment activities for the Air Force customer. You will play a critical role in ensuring the successful design, analysis and development of software and conversion process solutions to the Air Force CE community across more than 200 bases worldwide.
This position is 100% remote.
In this role, you will:
- Install and maintain the Oracle database software.
- Create storage database structures with high-level security features.
- Alter storage structures to meet the evolving needs of the project.
- Setting up database user accounts.
- Training users on how to access the information in the database.
- Find and debug malfunctioning programs affecting the database integrity.
- Creating autonomous database backups.
- Regularly updating the database security protocols
- Ability to work across multiple Engineering teams to include: Development, Database, Systems Engineering and IA
- Work effectively independently as well as part of a large diverse team
- Respond to telephone calls, email, and personnel requests for technical support
- Perform application and platform upgrades to stay compliant with current software vendor versions
- Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructures, configure, test and maintain application software and system management tools
- Pro-actively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
- Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
- Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $100,8386.00 to $167,310.00; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- High School Diploma and 10 years of requisite job experience
- A U.S. citizenship with the ability to to obtain a secret Clearance
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security or equivalent)
- Applicant must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends
- Knowledge of networking and equipment
- Experience implementing and administrating common TCP/IP-based services, including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, SSH, SMTP, etc.
- Knowledge of monitoring existing systems to ensure structural integrity
- Ability to Install and configure application software
- Experience with STIGs in a Linux environment with demonstrated knowledge of Linux skills
- Review and redline application install instructions
- Travel up to 10%
Additional desired experience and skills:
- Active DOD Security Clearance
- Knowledge of Air Force CE Community.
- Experience working with federal government programs, particularly DoD
- Oracle vault and label security
