What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook position at Serene Gardens of Imlay City?
Serene Gardens of Imlay City, a beautiful senior living community is hiring a full-time Cook for our community. If you have experience as a Cook and enjoy working within a senior community we would like to speak with you!
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- provide quality, nutritional meals that our resident enjoy
- Ensures the highest quality of customer service for all residents
- Capable of preparing and cooking various items according to menus, special dietary or nutritional requirements, or portion numbers and sizes to be served
- Assists with developing, compiling, and maintaining food records regarding use and expenditures as well as food records in regard to residents' dietary requirements.
- Inventories supplies and equipment
- Assists in determining meals and menus
- Ensures cleanliness and functional operation of equipment, kitchen equipment and work areas by routinely cleaning and inspecting each piece and area
- Adhere to cleaning schedules; after each services, daily, weekly, etc
- Operate in accordance with all applicable health, safety and hygiene codes and standards of the health department
- Maintain proper required documentation and records
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED, required
- ServSafe Certified, required
- At least 1 year of professional cooking experience is required, preferably in a hospitality or healthcare setting
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work well unsupervised
