Position Overview:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will provide strategic leadership and oversight for all operational aspects of the organization. This position is critical to ensuring the organization's effective and efficient functioning, providing a safe, supportive environment for individuals and families in domestic violence crises. The COO will manage day-to-day operations, oversee program delivery, and collaborate closely with the CEO and other key stakeholders to drive the organization's mission, vision, and goals. The COO is responsible for ensuring that the organization is well-positioned in a rapidly evolving environment by being an agent for ongoing organizational change, assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating all operational aspects of the organization to foster continuous quality improvement and effective, efficient performance. The position ensures that strategies are clearly understood and that the organization is achieving its strategic, financial and contractual goals at an optimal pace
and level. The COO is responsible for the operational execution and contract negotiations of the organization, assuring succesful execution per organization, contractual goals and standards. The role will work closely with the President/CEO on business expansion strategies, development, and execution of all business matters.

Key Responsibilities:
 Oversee the day-to-day operations of Serene Harbor, providing strategic, organization, and administrative leadership.
 Collaborate with the CEO and the Board of Directors to develop and update the organization's strategic plan, aligning operational activities with the overall mission and vision.
 Lead, motivate, and support a diverse team. Provide coaching, professional development, and performance management to ensure the highest quality of care and service.
 Ensure that the organization is responsive to the needs of participants. Ensure programs meet regulatory standards, funding requirements, and client outcomes.
 Collaborate with the CEO and Board of Directors to develop and manage budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure the organization's financial sustainability. Ensure efficient use of resources to maximize the impact of services provided.
 Collaborate with the QA & Compliance Specialists to ensure the organization complies with all local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards. Oversee the organization's adherence to best practices and continuous improvement efforts.
 Develop and maintain relationships with local government agencies, community organizations, donors, and other key partners. Advocate for the organization and its mission within the community.
 Lead in crises, providing direction to staff and ensuring the safety and well-being of all staff and participants. Handle any operational challenges or emergencies that may arise.

Physical Requirements:
 Ability to work in a fast-pace environment and manage stressful situations.
 Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet the organization's 24/7 operational needs.

Internal Relationships, Leadership Oversight & Responsibilities:
This position works closely with the President/CEO, Board of Directors, Committees of the Board, and senior staff to assess, revise, develop, implement, and evaluate organizational policies, priorities, systems, and associated endeavors and businesses.
Leads and develops senior staff to grow long-term goals, policies, and strategies to ensure successful operations, programming, fundraising, and community initiatives. Considers and analyzes the implications of proposed actions and decisions by individual areas of the whole organization. This role oversees all operations of the organization, assuring efficiencies, compliance, and performance of all contractual agreements with funding entities, sub-contractors, and other entities. This position assures compliance with all federal, state, and local laws related to all elements of the organization. Additionally, this role provides executive leadership of all human resources and administrative functions of the organization, assuring effective and efficient execution.

Organizational Planning Duties:
 Facilitates the development, maintenance, and monitoring of organizational plans.
 Partnership with the CEO, Board and executive team, development and successful execution of the strategic plan.
 Leads the organization through transofrmation and ongoing change.
 Ensure clarity, understanding, commitment, and the successful execution of operations among all executive leaders, directors, managers, employees, partners, and more.
 Leads the execution and integration of the strategy-aligned departmental work plans.
 Manages organizational operations in alignment with the annual operating and capital budgets in collaboartion with the President/CEO.

Education & Experience Requirements:
 Bachelors degree in public administration, business administration, legal studies, political science, social work, or relevant degree required. Consideration may be given for experience in lieu of degree.
 At least 5 years of COO or senior level experience leading and managing nonprofit organizations.
 Expert knowledge of non-profit budgeting, fund development, and program development.

Salary : $75,000 - $80,000
