Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Support patients with mobility and transfers to ensure safety and comfort.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the patient's quality of life.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment by maintaining hygiene standards in patient areas.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to implement care plans effectively.
- Participate in training sessions to improve skills related to geriatrics, hospital medicine, emergency medicine, and more.
Skills
- Knowledge of Level I Trauma Center protocols and procedures.
- Experience in inpatient settings, particularly with geriatric populations.
- Familiarity with hospital medicine practices and emergency medicine protocols.
- Ability to work in various environments including clinics, teaching hospitals, ORs, and Level II Trauma Centers.
- Proficiency in medical-surgical care practices.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
