What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assisted Living Manager position at Serenity Assisted Living?
- Plan, develop, organize, implement and direct daily functions of the building and programs, including dietary, maintenance, emergency response system, housekeeping, and laundry.
- Assists in hiring Care Partners/CNA’s.
- Be available/rotate “on call” when not on the premises. Must be available a minimum of 40 hrs per week with the understanding that more hours may be necessary to complete deadlines or during periods of “extenuating” circumstances.
- Receive incoming phone inquiries, and walk-in tours; follow up with appropriate materials. Conduct tours of the assisted living programs with prospective residents, their families; and with referral resources. Maintain relationship and contact with prospective residents and families.
- Complete all move in information with family/resident from those that are moving in. Forward a copy of the application and health consent forms to Home Care. Submit application, check, and other information to the business office.
- Leading/facilitating monthly Resident Council meetings for each site, including follow up to department heads.
- Completing Vulnerable Adults, MAARC Reports, and Incident Reports.
- Is available to listen to, investigate, and assist residents with all suggestions and / or issues they may have.
- Assist in planning and adhering to the annual operating budget for Assisted Living.
- Enter all data pertaining to inquiries and prospects into the Electronic Health Information System.
- Review, revise, and communicate policies and procedures to employees, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis throughout the building and organization
- Maintain and grow a positive relationship with community service organizations, community hospitals, clinics, home health agencies, other assisted living providers, other senior developments, and any other referral resource.
- Promote Serenity Assisted Living & Memory Care by participating in community events and community organizations.
- Work closely with staff of other departments and throughout the organization to create efficient systems and grow the mission of Serenity.
- Maintain compliance with contractual and licensure obligations to vendors, residents, and City, County, State and Federal authorities.
- Stay current on Housing with Services, Assisted Living, Elderly Waiver and Home Care regulations.
- Continue to stay current on continuing education as required by the state and federal government.
- Is responsible for well-being and protection of every resident and all staff when using the facility property
- Is responsible for emergency preparedness and all procedures related to the preparedness.
- Maintain complete confidentiality at all times in all business and personal dealings with residents, family, staff, and general public.
- Communicates with CFO on purchasing major equipment, policy change, and staffing issues. Maintains established budgets.
- Will give direction to the facility nurses or other leadership team members when requested or is necessary.
- Will follow directions and instructions given by the Licensed Assisted Living Director or Clinical Nurse Supervisor.
- Will present ideas and suggestions to the Licensed Assisted Living Director or Clinical Nurse Supervisor on all operations, financial or other.
- Conducts oneself in a professional matter.
- Interprets Serenity’s philosophy and all policies to all team members. Sets tone and atmosphere of Serenity.
- Is responsible for holding staff meeting that foster team engagement, respectful participation, and a solution-oriented approach.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Complete a criminal background fingerprint check (CBC).
- Must have, as a minimum, 2 years or more of experience in a management or supervisory role.
- Working knowledge of housing laws and governing regulation of senior services.
- Computer skill with basic programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and able to learn other software necessary for the job.
- Must be able to generate a friendly, trusting personality upon first impression.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and leadership/supervisory skills.
This position works closely with our Clinical Nurse Supervisor to direct daily operations, managing staff, ensuring resident happiness and nurturing a positive work and living environment.
The primary purpose of this position is to assist in directing the day-to-day operations of Serenity Assisted Living & Memory Care in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern nursing facilities, and as directed by the Advisory Board, to assure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
