Maintenance Assistant

Serenity Estates of Morris is a 142-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center, located in Morris, Illinois. We have an excellent opportunity to join our team in our maintenance department.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

This maintenance position works collaboratively with the Maintenance Manager and other maintenance team members to provide general maintenance services.

• Must have general knowledge and experience of painting, plumbing, carpentry, power tools, snow removal and lawn maintenance.
• Maintaining all equipment, grounds and performs corrective and preventive maintenance.
• Willing to work and learn under supervision
• Able to apply building and safety codes to facility situations and maintenance procedures
• Conducts scheduled maintenance throughout physical plant and for all equipment.
• Maintains and tests the emergency power system to ensure availability of power.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to read, speak, write and understand English. Follow directions and complete tasks.
• Maintains a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be able to push/pull move and/or lift/carry a minimum of 25 pounds feet and be able to, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time.
• May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
