Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction.
- Drive clients to appointments or social outings as needed.
- Monitor clients’ physical and emotional well-being, reporting any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Implement behavior management strategies as necessary to ensure a calm and supportive environment.
- Maintain a clean and safe living space for clients, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Document care provided and any significant observations in client records.
Requirements
- Previous experience in senior care, long-term care, or as a personal care assistant is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and ability to respond effectively in emergencies.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to drive safely and possess a valid driver’s license.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
