Job Summary
Plans, organizes, facilitates, and directs recreational activity program for Serenity Manor Adult Day Services participants. Directs and organizes such activities as exercises, dramatics, games, arts and crafts, offsite excursions, etc. to help participants develop interpersonal relationships, socialize effectively, and develop confidence needed to participate in group activities.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide activities and programs that encourage engagement and socialization to help support high quality of life for Center participants.
2. Plan, implement, and monitor wellness and recreation programs to meet the specific needs of Center participants.
3. Participate in assessing and documenting participant progress charts and reports for medical staff and other members of the inter-departmental care team reflecting participant reaction and evidence of progress or regression.
4. Organize and coordinate special outings and accompany participants on outings if required.
5. Plan and post/advertise a monthly activity/program calendar.
6. Prepares for activities and programs by obtaining and organizing necessary materials.
7. Work collaboratively with other Center staff assuring that activities are conducted adequately and appropriately.
8. Provide hands-on involvement in activities and programs.
9. Work with Center Director to network with community organizations, businesses, schools and individuals to form a solid volunteer program. Manage volunteer program, including recruitment, training and supervising volunteers.
10. Plan monthly activities and program calendar for the Center and communicate to the participants.
11. Coordinate transportation of participants to and from offsite events.
12. Participate in planning and implementing internal and external community events.
13. Ensure Center activity program meets all local, state and federal regulations.
Qualifications
1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Associate degree with emphasis in human service or recreation therapy a plus.
3. Three or more years of related experience in a similar environment preferred (ie: Adult Daycare center, Assisted Living Facility, Nursing Home, Etc.)
4. Strong oral and written communication skills.
5. Previous experience working in an adult medical day care setting a plus.
6. Ability to work effectively with small and large groups and function as a leader or facilitator.
