REPORTS TO : Vice President of Operations
CLASSIFICATION : Non Exempt, Part Time – 25 hours a week
PAY RANGE : $58.00 per hour
LOCATION : Los Gatos, CA
SUMMARY
The HR Business Partner and Payroll Administrator collaborates with the Executive Team and leadership to develop and implement company strategies geared towards supporting the human potential and health of the company. The administrator is responsible for the payroll administrative functions of the company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Collaborate with Executive Team and Leadership to develop and implement plans for a variety of HR matters such as compensation strategies, company benefits, health and safety protocols, professional development, job descriptions, legal compliance with labor laws, and to provide insights about how all decisions impact / affect the employee
- Oversee all HR information systems and practices including : company policies, employee handbook, payroll administration, employee benefits, 401K planning, recruiting, screening, interviewing, conducting background checks through third-party sources, onboarding / offboarding of employees, terminations, leave of absence needs, job descriptions, corrective action, and performance improvement plans
- Solely responsible for processing payroll and coordinating with outsourced payroll vendor to ensure compliant compensation practices
- Serve as the point of contact regarding employment relations matters such as, grievances, conflict resolution, and employee engagement
- Provide prompt and appropriate guidance and support to management, employees and executives
- Assist with developing and implementing company compensation review and strategy
- Monitor adherence to internal policies as well as the changing standards of external legislation
- Coordinate with external partners such as 401K plan administrators, health benefits brokers, workers compensation claims adjusters, and labor law attorneys.
- Conduct internal investigations when needed and facilitate the process through to resolution
- Coach and train managers regarding legally compliant personnel practices related to matters such as lawful hiring practices, terminations, discriminatory practices, compensation decisions, and disciplinary matters
- Proactively address areas of risk and exposure and take actionable steps to mitigate potential losses / harm
- Provide unbiased, cohesive, and empathetic support to all employees, management, and executive staff
- Proactively anticipate risks for exposure and consult with the Legal department to resolve litigation matters when needed
- Utilize business acumen partnered with attention to the human element to guide all decisions and functions
- Remain knowledgeable about employment law and trends by participating in conferences, webinars, and educational opportunities
- Maintain efficient, consistent, and accurate personnel files
- Complete Year End processing in a timely manner and coordinate with outside partners when needed (i.e., 401K administrators, benefits brokers, etc.)
- Assist with preparation and maintenance of Form 1099’s
- Submit payroll and post appropriately
- Post the 401K contributions per payroll
- Audit payroll deductions against benefit invoice statements
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
