Job Description:
As a Technical Project Manager, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the successful execution and delivery of projects while adhering to client standard methodologies. You will also play a vital role in continuously improving project management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize agile project management principles and tools like DevOps and Jira to manage projects. Collaborate closely with technical teams, interface with clients, develop status reports, and manage deployments and production issues.
- Demonstrate experience and proficiency in database management using SQL Server, software development using the .NET framework, systems integration, and data conversion. Collaborate effectively with technical teams, understand their requirements, and provide guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Continuously assess and evaluate the effectiveness of current project management processes. Provide recommendations for improvement by incorporating industry best practices and lessons learned.
- Manage and oversee multiple small to large complex projects, ensuring they are executed efficiently and within established timelines and budgets.
- Assign work to project team members based on their skills, expertise, and availability. Ensure tasks are distributed appropriately and monitor progress.
- Establish project priorities, objectives, and procedures while considering area objectives, service targets, and resource allocation needs. Continuously monitor and adjust priorities as necessary.
- Identify and escalate critical issues and decisions to executives when necessary, providing thorough analysis, recommendations, and solutions to ensure timely resolution.
- Provide strong technical leadership and direction to the project team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Communicate project goals, expectations, and strategies effectively to team members.
- Utilize client standard methodologies and the Project Management Methodology (PMM) throughout the project lifecycle, from maintenance and development to enhancement and deployment. Ensure project activities align with established guidelines.
- Develop and maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and compose correspondence related to project activities. This includes creating meeting agendas, transcribing meeting minutes, and ensuring effective communication channels between stakeholders.
- Schedule staff assignments, set work priorities, and direct the efforts of assigned employees, including contractual staff. Foster collaboration, teamwork, and a cohesive working environment.
- Stay abreast of emerging project management techniques, tools, and methodologies. Continuously seek opportunities to incorporate new approaches that can improve project outcomes, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Coordinate projects running simultaneously or sequentially to ensure collaboration and communication between project functions. Foster cross-functional collaboration, resolve conflicts, and facilitate knowledge sharing among teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree and/or project management certification is preferred.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of experience supervising or overseeing IT-related programs or projects. A background in working in a highly technical environment is essential.
- Certification in Project Management, Agile, or a similar qualification, demonstrating a strong foundation in project management methodologies.
- Strong experience with Agile delivery methods is required. Familiarity with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is preferred.
- Experience in managing software implementations, showcasing your ability to handle complex projects.
- Proven track record of being results-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to set and achieve aggressive goals.
